I Dit It | Bad Apple Hair Experience

After months and years of pondering, wondering and just generally putting it off, I finally got my hair done for the first time in I think a year last month.

A little hair history for hair has been with me for as long as I remember and it has only ever been cut in a small hairdressers in my village. All these cuts consisted of was a brief five minutes every 6 months in the chair so all the dead/split ends could be cut off and then I would pay and leave. This was fine until my last trip there back in the end of  2017, I had someone new cut my hair. She wasn't the politest of people, she made me very uncomfortable and the whole experience was unpleasant. Due to this last experience, I never returned to that hairdressers and went hairdresser free for almost a year.

Recently though, after months of looking at my dream hair colours and cuts on Pinterest, I decided to research hairdressers/salons that would finally sort out my mop. In stepped Bad Apple Hair...

Bad Apple Hair is an award winning independent group of salons based in the West Midlands with salons in six locations. I was made aware of the group about six months ago when I last went to the dentist (I know...its random but stay with me) in Wolverhampton. The Wolverhampton Salon is based slap bang in the centre of Wolverhampton right opposite my dentist. I was drawn in my the design of the salon so I made a note of the name and went home to investigate.

What I came across when I googled filled me with so much hope that not all hairdressers were bad. All the BAH salons have gorgeous designs inside, all the stylists have to go through a intensive trade test or training that includes 12 classic cuts & 9 classic colours and 3 blow drys before they work for the company. Bad Apple Hair also have a good social presence online with twitter and facebook pages as well as an instagram page where dreams live.

So I made my decision, booked my appointment and headed to the BAH Wolverhampton salon. I was greeted by my stylist, Paige who asked what we were going to do. I said I wanted a new colour for my hair and a little trim afterwards. We discussed what kind of colour I wanted to go, Paige helped with the decision by giving me some recommendations and we finally decided to go a coppery red tone, which still looked natural.

From the moment I stepped in, I felt utterly welcome. I was offered refreshments at various times through my treatments and the music played in the salon kept me fully amused for the entire time I was in the chair.

A few hours later, I was done. I left completely in love with my new hair colour and my faith in getting my hair sorted completely restored. I will definitely be returning to Bad Apple Hair again and again. Totally worth checking out if you are from the West Midlands area.
