Sunday Stroll on South Bank

Last weekend I took a pretty spontaneous trip to London to catch a few shows and to get away from the Midlands for a bit. After rushing around on the Saturday frantically running from London district to London district, I decided to take a walk to South Bank to enjoy the sunshine.

I was staying in the St James' area so my walk started there and after grabbing my first Christmas Starbucks (Eggnog Latte...of course) I strolled over to the Houses of Parliment for my walk to begin. It was strange to see Queen Elizabeth's Tower and Big Ben covered in scaffolding but I know that the tower will be back in view in a year or so.

From there, I continued along the banks of the Thames stopping frequently to take pictures like a proper tourist. On my walk I caught glimpses of London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe and the This Morning Studios to name a few and with the weather treating me well, it was a delight to take in the sights in the glorious sunshine.

South bank is always a favourite place to walk for me because you literally get to stroll past most of Central London's many tourist sights without having to fight past all the crowds. For me, it was the perfect way to spend a few hours in London, whilst waiting for the shops to open on Oxford Street.
