Hit or Miss: L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover

I have a love/hate relationship with foundations. Being pale means that there is often a struggle to find the correct shade, which doesn't help but I am never able to find my perfect foundation, my bae if you will.

If you have been around for a while, you might know that one of my favourites is Estee Lauder Double Wear because it is full coverage and covers all the spots and imperfections I have but it pains me to repurchase because it is a hefty £32.50 for a bottle. So with that in mind I have been trying to find a more purse friendly full coverage foundation. Step in the L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation.

Now let's start with the shade range, just like it's medium coverage cousin Infallible 24hr Matte, it has a range of about 10 shades, ranging from the pale shades for lighter skinniness to deeper shades for darker skintones.

As I already know that in the Infallible 24hr shade is Porcelain "10", I went straight for the same shade in this Total Cover foundation.  It works out a good colour match for me as it's a pale neutral (leaning on the pink side) foundation, which is perfect for me so top marks there.

The thing I have the problem with is the formula. As you might be able to tell from the tube it is a thick consistency which has a slight silicone look to it when you squeeze it out of the tube. This means, at least for me, that when applying this product with a brush after a little blending on the skin, the foundation begins to clog up the brush, which isn't very good.

Once on the skin, the foundation looks a little heavy feeling but looks wise it looks quite nice to begin with. However after 5 hours at work, it gets rather patchy and clings to any dryness on the skin. It's not a good look.

Now my skin is touchy at the best of times so for all I know it could be my skin that isn't a fan of this foundation but for me this foundation is a miss.

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?
