The Battle of the Eyeshadow Stick...Rimmel, NYX, KIKO & By Terry

Hey,

If you have ever watched my Make Up Collection video on my YouTube Channel, you might be aware that I have a little bit of a Eyeshadow stick obsession. I have a drawer completely full of the things and they're all different brands so today I thought I'd do a comparison post.

So today the battle is on... which is the best eyeshadow stick?

Up first is the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil. I have a set of these which was the first step into the eyeshadow stick world. They come in 28 different shades, from shimmery neutrals to more out there shades. These pencils can be used as an eyeliner or an eyeshadow and it doen't drag along the lid on application. I do find when they dry, it does feel a little sticky on the lid but a little powder over the top sorts it out,

Next onto the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow stick. There are 8 shades of these and I only have one shade which is this one called Bulletproof Beige. I never bought any more of these because they have the same texture and formula on the eye as the NYX and I already had a good collection of them. I found they also had the sticky problem again, a small bit of powder and it's ok.

KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks is where the big facination really began. There is 32 different shades in the range of which I have around 20 of them. The shade range varies from matte looking neutrals to shimmers and there are a handful of very wearable colour shades too. I don't think there is a shade in the range that isn't wearable. They work well as bases for other eyeshadows, they blend well and look brilliant on their own too. As the name suggests, the shadow lasts well on the eyes with little creasing through the day. PLUS they are only £6.90 each, which is probably why I have so many of them. Definitely my favourite of all the low end high street ones I've tried.

Finally, the shadow stick that probably has the most hype around it, the By Terry Ombre Blackstar. There are 12 shades to pick from, of which I've got 8. The shade range is very neutral based, if you are looking for an out there colour then these won't be your thing. The thing that I find special about these shadow sticks is their formula. They glide effortlessly onto the eye and can give a great wash of colour with one stroke of the pen. If you can't tell, I'm a big fan of them. Their only downside is the price, they're £29 each. Definitely a splurge purchase but I think they are definitely worth it.

Have you tried any of these eyeshadow sticks?

Lots of Love,
Clare

  5. I've tried the Rimmel one, but as much as I love the colour, the product itself creased as heck on my terrible oily eyelids. I really want to try the Kiko ones though! xx
