Hot Weather Make Up Must Haves

Hi there,

Summer is officially here. After the heatwave temperatures last week, which pretty much turned me into mush, I've started looking at my beauty stash and picking the products that will survive the heat better than I do.

To be honest if I'm not called into work, I will not put any make up on. This is for two reasons... number 1) I'm giving my skin chance to breather from not being smothered in make up but also for reason number 2) I'm more than likely going to sweat it off if the temperature is turned up.
That being said, if I put a base on.. it will definitely include the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue. I currently enjoy pairing it with another foundation for day to day wear but it's also good to have around if you want a little something something on your face without having a lot of coverage. To top it off, it's got an SPF 30 in it which means there is the extra added bonus that you won't end the day with a tomato face.

Next up eyes. There's two ways to go. If you're going all out with blending and mixing colours and shadows then you need a good base. I love the MAC Painterly Paint Pot because eyeshadows stick to that like glue which means no eyeshadow will be half way down your face after stepping outside the house.
The other option is a eyeshadow stick. They are long lasting and are very easy to apply. I love the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Melting Eyeshadows. They are easy to apply, come in a variety of neutral colours and they are super long lasting. If these aren't in your price range, then I'd definitely suggest looking into the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks, which are a fraction of the price but still a good product.

Cheeks wise, I tend to go for a subtle pink shade or something like the MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Stereo Rose. This product is limited edition so it's hard to find but it gives the skin a gorgeous finish.

Finally onto the Lips. For me there's nothing better than sunglasses on, hair in a bun and a red lip for a simple summer look.  I'm also a big bright lip fan in the warmer months. But to be honest, any lip colour is perfect.

What are your summer/hot weather must haves?

Lots of Love,
