A Look through the Hourglass

Hey there,

How are we all today?
The other day whilst making sure that all my make up was away and in the right place (I get really OCD over it) that I made a discovery, over the past 6 months one brand has snuck into my life. Meet my Hourglass collection.

I have been aware of Hourglass for a while but it wasn't until the introduction of the Ambient Lighting Blushes came around that I actually made a purchase.

This purchase was of the blush Mood Exposure and let me tell you, it was a purchase I made after MUCH MUCH deliberation. Mood Exposure is a very neutral mauve-y rose shade perfect for days, when the skin needs a little warmth and love.

For a while Mood Exposure was my only Hourglass product. That was until May this year, when I went to London to meet up with Beth and Becky. We did what all good bloggers/vloggers do in London do, we shopped. Whilst in Liberty, Beth bought the Hourglass Ambient Bronzing Powder in Luminous Bronze after it was applied to her skin. I knew as soon as I saw it in action I'd want it too so after Liberty we ventured to the nearest Space NK store so I could buy it and use some of my Incentive points.

Luminous Bronze is just what it says on the tin, it gives the skin a luminous warm bronze glow on the skin. This isn't a bronzer for contouring but to be fair, it's not something I wanted it for. It does the job it's designed for perfectly and it is so beautiful to boot.

Then after A LOT of deliberation, once more I got the Hourglass buying bug and this time I finally bought the thing that started the Ambient range off, the Ambient Lighting Powders and I didn't just buy one, I bought two in very close succession.

The two powders I own are Diffused Light and Mood Light. Diffused Light is a pale yellow toned powder, which is designed to reduce redness. I use this powder if I feel that my skin needs a bit of brightness.
Mood Light, I want to say, is my favourite of the two I own. It is a pale lavender powder, which just blurs out everything. The powder is designed to give you the look of skin in the best mood lighting and we all know how mood lighting gives you the best skin.

There are so many things I want to try from the brand including a few more shades of the blushes and the Brow Arch but I thought I'd share my "collection" as it stands.

Have you tried anything from Hourglass?

Lots of Love,

  1. I really want to try the Ambient Lighting powders but there's not a Space NK anywhere nearby and I like to swatch powders. Do they have flecks of glitter in them? Swatches online are always so different.
