You know you're a beauty blogger when...

Hi there,

For today's post I thought I'd talk about things that make you a typical beauty blogger. There are things that we do as a community that to the outside world can seem weird and there are also something that make us unique beings that just spend a lot of time typing away at a computer.

You know you're a beauty blogger when....
  • you leave every successful shopping trip, with swatch stained hands and a boots bag to boot.
  • you know what the word swatch means.. so many non bloggers friends that I have has no idea what a swatch is.
  • you know more about when new products and new collections come out than some of the people on the counters.
  • you think it is completely fine to have many lipsticks in exactly the same colour just by different brands or maybe because they have different finishes to them.
  • you can guess what lipsticks people are wearing when you are out in public or on people's videos. One of my favourite games to play.
  • you can advise your blogging and non blogging friends on what lipsticks, eyeshadows and blushes (amongst other things) that they should buy. I was even asked by a good friend to go make up shopping for her wedding because she valued my opinion and knowledge.
  • you know its dangerous to go on twitter as the whole community of beauty bloggers are very big enablers.
  • you know its a cardinal sin to use a product before you have photographed it.
  • you are sad to hear that people still use cleansing wipes to take off make up and then nothing else. Also it worries you when you watch someone in Boots or Superdrug applying make up using the testers and then putting them back on the display (just why?)
  • you are constantly on pinterest looking at make up looks, beauty storage ideas and hair inspiration.
  • your phone's camera roll is full of selfies and pictures of products.
  • you know that if you need to know what a lipstick/eyeshadow looks like you can just visit Temptalia.
  • you know what #bbloggers, FOTD and NOTD means.
  • you know how annoying the comment I've followed you now follow me is to receive in your comments box.
  • you have a large enough collection of make up and beauty goodies that it probably needs its own room.
  • you are lusting over the said make up room and know exactly how you'd decorate it and what furniture it'd have in it (or is that just me)
  • you spend half of your day watching youtube/reading blogs for "research purposes".

I could have gone on and on but I thought I'd give you a few, What do you think of this list, do any of these sound like you?  Can you think of any more to add to the list?
Leave them down below in the comments.

Lots of Love,

  1. The first point is amazing, I always leave Boots/Superdrug looking such a mess, my hands are always covered in swatches!

  2. I can relate to every single one of those statements!
I have started to carry around a little pack of wipes/tissues in my handbag in case I end up with lipstick swatches all over my hands.

  3. Love this, it made me chuckle! I'm definitely with you on the majority of these. I've noticed I'm now the one that my friends come to when they need beauty advice, which is a new thing to get used to! x

    Always, Alice x
