2014 Highlights

KHey there,

It feels like a long time since I've sat down and wrote a blog post on this blog. At the start of the year if you had told me that I would not blog continuously for the whole year, having unannounced gaps and breaks, I would have had a nervous moment. But I have come to realise that every so often you need to step back and just curl into a ball and not think about typing away at a keyboard, and that is just what I've been doing for a while.

Anyway onto today's post, which is when I am going to look back over the past year and share some of my highlights.

Starting in June, I went to a Birmingham Bloggers Meet Up organised by Paige and Jess. I really enjoy to attend meet ups in Birmingham because it gives me chance to catch up with the bloggers who are nearest to me. This is the last time that I met up with them all as I haven't had chance to see many of them since June. I think another meet up needs to happen in Birmingham in the New Year, whose with me?

Next up, here is a picture of me as a bridesmaid to my oldest friend, Natalie, who I have known for 20 years now. It was so amazing to be a part of her day and as you can see the dress was beautiful and also very comfortable.
In addition to being a bridesmaid, I was also font of all beauty knowledge from the nail polish all the bridesmaid's wore (we all wore Essie Not Just a Pretty Face), to what lipsticks would be universal shades for everyone. Plus I did everyone's eye make up on the day, which made me feel like a make up artist.. I loved it.

Moving onto August, I made a trip down to London to attend a Meet up that I had single handedly organised by myself. It was very relaxed meet up, which involved a little swap. I'll leave the link to my post here if you fancy a mooch. Whilst I was down in London that time, I had time to check out the poppies by the Tower of London, which was amazing and I'm so glad that I saw it as it was very humbling and special.

In September, I tried Five Guys for the first time and it was good. I'm not normally one to eat a beef burger because I find most burgers to have an almost fake taste to them but oh my life Five Guys make good burgers. I have had 3 since my first and they are always as good as each other. In fact, I am dreaming about my next visit already, whose with me?

This month I met the Pixiwoo sisters, Sam and Nic. I happened to be in London on the day that they were involved with something in Covent Garden. I was in London meeting up with Lola/Laurel from Lola's Little Wonders and we both got our photos taken with them. They were so lovely and very down to earth. It was really exciting to meet them in the flesh.

My final picture has to be my favourite one of the lot. I made a final trip down to London on the 22nd of this month, along with my brother and my mum. We did all the touristy things and even visited the Tower of London, something that I hadn't done since I was about six. Just as it was getting dark, we made a trip to Greenwich and walked up the steep hill to the Observatory. As you can see the sky was dark by then which just highlighted all the lights from the buildings at Canary Wharf and the O2 (or Millenium Dome as I still want to call it).

This was the perfect way to finish of the day as it just looked amazing and was something that I will definitely be doing again next time I'm in London.

So there are a few highlights of my 2014. What were yours?
As I am posting this on the 31st of December 2014, I would like to take this chance to wish you a Happy New Year and a wonderful new 2015.

Lots of Love,
