Review: L'Oreal True Match Foundation

Hey there,

Today I bring you a foundation review. I'm guessing you'd worked that out from the title of this blog post but I thought I'd just tell you in case. For me, foundation is a tricky one to review because everyone's idea of the perfect foundation is different.

Today, we are going to look at L'Oreal True Match Foundation. This foundation has been called the dupe of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and I was interested to see how similar it was as I have Luminous Silk but for certain reasons, it's not my favourite.

Let's start with the colour... L'Oreal have created this foundation in a variety of colours and various undertones (warm, neutral and cool), which should in effect should mean that it'll be easier to work out what your shade is. I like this idea because I often find that most drugstore/highstreet foundations either sway pink toned (cool) or yellow toned (warm).

I plumped for the shade C1, which is Rose Ivory. This is the palest cool toned (pink based) foundation in the range and by the high street standards, it's a good match for my skin tone. So 10/10 for effort there.

I'd call this foundation a medium coverage semi matte finish. It covers all my chin spots but it doesn't smother them or hide them completely and it leaves your skin with semi matte, smooth feeling skin.

Lasting power wise, I've been wearing it for work recently and it has been working pretty well. I have finished the day with not much remaining on my chin and nose but they are the most oily parts of my face, plus there's nothing a little MAC Studio Fix Powder can't fix.

Overall, it is a lovely foundation with good colour range for us pale faced ladies plus it has a nice finish to it for a night out. It might not be my pick for day to day use but that is because I prefer something with a fuller coverage and a more matte finish then.

What do you think of this foundation? Have you tried it?
Tell me what you think in the comments.

Lots of Love,
Clare

  1. I have heard such great things about this foundation on other blogs too but sadly for me it just doesn't seem to have the sort of coverage I am looking for xxx

    1. I like that they have accommodated for all skin tones, I often can't find one with enough of a pink balance for my cool toned skin xx
