WEDDING WEEK: What Make Up I took for the Wedding

Hey there,

With summer often comes something that people like to call Wedding/Prom Season. It is when everyone gets their gladrags out and celebrates a very important life moment and the make up can get fancy.

If you didn't already know, I was recently a bridesmaid to my friend of 20 years. I offered to help with make up for her and the other bridesmaids as make up and beauty is something I enjoy and let's face it I have enough make up to be able to do more than one persons face.

Today I thought I'd share with you what I took with me make up wise. If you didn't already know, I transported all my make up down to Loughborough (where the wedding took place, about an hour and a half from where I live) in my Cath Kidston Two Fold Toiletry Bag which was the perfect size for everything I needed to take. Here it is in action.

So let's go though what I took.Up first, the bases and powders. I took two foundations for me as I couldn't decide which one to wear on the day. In the end I went for Estee Lauder Double Wear but I also took Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk too. Powder wise I took my old faithful MAC Studio Fix powder as I know how it works and how well it works.

The other powder products I took were blushes and highlighters. The highlighters were requested by the bride for her own make up. I took the only two highlighters MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle and MUA Undress Your Skin Highlight.
I took three blushes with me, which were MAC Warm Soul, MAC Well Dressed and Natural Collection blush in Pink Cloud.

Next up, eyeshadows and other eye make up. The easiest way to work I decided was to take a MAC palette or two. In hindsight I could have got away with just taking my Warm Neutrals Palette (the bottom one of the two) but I took my unfinished 15 pan palette with me too because it has Brule and Patina in them.

I love the Warm Neutrals palette from MAC because it is full of summery simple golds, browns and nude. They are shades that I think everyone can wear, which is why I did the girls' eye make up using it.

The other eye make up I used was concealer (I took MAC Pro Longwear, NARS Creamy Concealer and L'oreal Lumi Magique), Mascara (Lancome Hypnose Star and Benefit They're Real), a MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and two eyebrow pens from Sleek in different colours.

And Finally, Lip Products...let's just say I took a few. I'm not going to go into the lipsticks too much as I am going to write a seperate post on my Lipstick blog.
I also took two lipliners (Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pink Venus and MAC Subculture) and three Lipglosses.

And that is it, all the make up I took with me. I also took a large collection of brushes so that everyone could have their own brushes on the day.If you want a post on those, let me know and I'll do one.

What do you think of my make up picks? Let me know in the comments.

Lots of Love,
Clare
