Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in '51' Light Vanilla

Hey there,

Welcome to the second installment of "rediscovery week". This week is all about things that I have used once or twice then lost in my stash until I looked into them again. Up first on Monday, I talked about my rediscovery of the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and today I talk to you about a foundation that I have found again.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in '51' Light Vanilla

Bourjois Healthy Mix is a foundation, which amongst bloggers has gained quite a lot of good reviews. Until recently it was sat in my make up collection rather unused and I think that was a shame.

My first meeting with this foundation came way before I started my blog, when after seeing it mentioned on one of Fleur de Force's videos. I immediately went out and bought it in her shade at the time which was 53 Light Beige thinking that we would be the same shade and came back so proud of myself... of course dear readers I had bought a foundation much to dark for my pale skin and after a couple of uses the foundation got put in a drawer to live for all time.

Fast forward a few years, this blog had existed for about a year and the hype had returned around this foundation. Of course, as a follower of most hypes I went out and bought Healthy Mix for a second time, this time in the right shade, and I started to use it again. However, for one reason or another (like the fact I have far too many foundations for one human being) I stopped using it.

Until I bought the NARS Sheer Glow that is. You see when I bought Sheer Glow I heard a lot of people say that Bourjois Healthy Mix was similar. As a fan of the NARS foundation I decided to dig my Healthy Mix and the rest as they say is history.

Bourjois Healthy Mix is a Medium Buildable foundation that has a natural finish to it. This means it isn't overly dewy and not at all matte, it just looks like your skin but better ( or at least thats what it looks like on my face).

It wears well for about 5 hours for me, with it leaving the jaw area first as this is my oiliest place on my face, with a little powdering I can get away with it for a little while longer but it's not an all day one application wonder foundation. However saying that for the £9.99 price tag I'm will definitely be running to repurchase when it runs out.

Just before I go I must mention the colour range. I wear the lightest shade 51 Light Vanilla and that with a little proper blending in matches decently, if not a smidgen too dark.

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?

Till Next Time,
Clare
