BEAUTY: The Skincare Tag

Hello Lovelies,

I love a good tag post as much as the next person, I think it helps to give an insight into the person behind the computer keyboard. Yes, we are all people tapping away and everything we have in common is the fact we all have skin, but not everyone treats it as well as we should.

If you have been a reader of mine for a while, you will know about my increasing love for all things skincare so when I saw that the lovely Kat from Tales of a Pale Face (great blog and lovely lady) I knew I wanted to have a go at this tag.

Now I do think I was tagged by someone to do this but I can't remember who (if it is you please tell me and I'll say) or I might have just dreamt it. But without further a do, here are the questions...

Describe your skincare routine in 5 words..
Cleanse, tone, battle spots, moisturise.

What's your skin type?
As I have said before I've never been entirely sure what my skin type is. I believe I have combination spot prone skin (or at least that is what I tell people I have).

What's your favourite skincare product?
See I have two... First of all my toner is one that I have used for at least 2-3 years and have gone through many a bottle and that is the Lush Tea Tree Water. The other one is my night cream which smells amazing and I love to apply it every night and thats the Origins Night a mins night cream.

Top blemish zapper
I have to say either Lush Grease Lightning, which has been said to be very similar to the Origins Spot remover OR the Witch Blemish Stick.

Face wipes yay or nay?
Nay all the way. Like most bloggers I have backed well away from them now. I have one packet kept in a draw for when I'm doing swatch posts and need to get clear the hand but thats it now.

Toner yay or nay?
Yay! without toner, there still may be something lurking on your face, whether it be make up or cleanser. Using a toner gives you one last chance to have a clean slate before you put some moisture back into the skin.

High end skincare or high end makeup?
As much as I love my higher end make up, I think high end skincare is the one I would have to pick. From experience, between now and when I first started my skin has changed a lot thanks to the way I treat it now. There is no point buying really expensive make up if the skin you put it onto is going to show it off in its best light.

What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
I have not tried many unusual skincare products yet however I do have some 24K Gold undereye masks somewhere which seem rather strange to use.

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick one item - what is it?
I think I'd go for something that isn't easy to get your hands on in this country. I'm not sure what it would be... maybe a bottle of La Roche Posay Serozinc.

Tell us your top skincare tip
I have two (naughty).. firstly the one which I'm sure most people will say and thats to make sure that you take off your make up before you go to sleep. No-one wants to wake up with a pillow full of make up, you can always make time to cleanse your face.

My second tip is to ask other bloggers. If you know a blogger who knows their skincare and you need help deciding what to pick up, ask for their opinions. It may help and might even save you some money down the way and stop you from buying something that won't work for your skin type. I have found most bloggers very helpful and now I'm getting better I try to help people that I see ask questions or I point them in the right direction to people who might be able to help.

There are my answers. I tag...
