GUEST POST: Top 3 Summer Bases with Sophia from Tattooed Tealady

Hi lovelies, I’m Sophia and I run a little blog called Tattooed Tealady where I blog all things beauty. I’m very excited to be guest posting for Clare today and I’m going to share my Top 3 Summer Bases with you. When we do get the odd lovely day here in England, the last thing you want is a heavy base or a coverage which feels heavy and dragging on the skin. Come the warmer months I pull out the light coverage foundations, tinted moisturisers and BB creams. Anything too heavy will make me feel hot and uncomfortable and in the sun and heat, it can leave me looking a bit of a melted mess by the end of the day. These are three products I regularly reach for on warmer days and all of them are star products in my bases drawer, they just do the job wonderfully.

The Kiehl’s Actively Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream with added Vitamin C is one of my favourite BB creams. It is a little bit thicker than some other BB creams available, but it provides a really good medium coverage which can either be applied for a lighter coverage or a heavier coverage. I find this BB cream really evens out my skin tone and makes my skin look like ‘my skin but better’ without having to use a full coverage foundation. It’s not the most purse-friendly of BB creams available, but it’s really quite special and the ingredients in the Kiehl’s BB cream are all specifically picked to work wonders on your skin with continued use, how fab! You can read my full review of the Kiehl’s Actively Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream for a more in-depth review. You can pick up Kiehl’s in some department stores, in their flagship stores and online. The Kiehl’s BB cream sells for £23.50 and is available in three shades.
The Origins Plantscription SPF15 Foundation is one of my absolute favourite lighter coverage foundations. With a very thin consistency and an easy to blend formula, this gives the lightest coverage which feels completely weightless on the skin, but whilst still providing an even coverage with a natural glow and finish. It’s a foundation which I think far more beauty obsessives should give a go because I have never tried anything like it. Perfect for sunny days in the sun or lunch with friends. You can read my full review of the Origins Plantscription SPF15 Foundation for a more in-depth review, and keep an eye out on the Origins makeup range over the coming months, there’s some exciting products to come out! You can pick up Origins in department stores, Boots and on the Origins website. The Origins Plantscription SPF15 Foundation sells for £16 and is available in eleven shades.
The REN Satin Perfection BB Cream is my favourite of the three. It is such a heavenly product, I have been besotted with this for weeks and I can’t wait to pick up the full size. This provides the coverage and even skin tone of the Kiehl’s BB Cream with the lightness and glow of the Origins foundation. It makes my skin look young, fresh and dewy and usually getting a product with a dewy finish to work on my oily skin is impossible. I think it is the nicest BB cream I have ever tried and if there is one perfect base you should pick up this summer, it’s the REN Satin Perfection BB Cream. You can pick up the REN Satin Perfection BB Cream in department stores and on the REN website. The REN Satin Perfection BB Cream sells for £26 and is available in one shade.
