How to.... Spotted Nails

Hey Lovelies,

So if you have seen my nails recently, you will know that I have been rocking the spots. I have had some lovely comments from people on twitter and I've been asked by people in the real world asked where I had gone to get them done, I took this as a compliment and explained I did it.

So I thought I'd show you what I did. You will need:

  • A coloured nail varnish (in my case, Barry M's Berry Ice Cream)
  • A white nail varnish
  • A Top Coat
  • A cocktail stick

First thing you want to do is paint two coats of your chosen base colour, allowing to try between each coat. Once the second coat is completely put a light coat of top coat on them to seal in the colour and leave to dry.

Once the coloured coat is dry, its time for the dots. Some people use dotting tools, but I haven't got one...Instead I chop the end of a cocktail stick, you know those things that are used at a children's party to spear cheese and pineapples to make them into snacks.

The Next part is easy... simple dip the cocktail stick into the nail varnish and put as many dots as you wish, I picked four.

Once your spots are dry, put on another coat of topcoat and you are ready to rock and roll.
So what do you think? I think it is a fun way to brighten up your nails plus its super simple to do (even I can do it... it's that easy). I think I shall be trying it a lot over the summer.

Till Next Time,
Clare xxx
