Lets talk about.... 90s music

Hey lovelies,
So recently I have really enjoyed listening to the music of my youth... So much so that today I have decided to drag you along with me down memory lane, picking out some songs that bring back memories for me and in general just ramble along like I normally do. Are you ready? Fasten your seatbelts.....we're going back in time.

I was born in the summer of 1990, I don't remember much about my earlier life until I went to primary school and met my best friend, Natalie. We have been friends since Reception and I can remember much about our early days. Like most girls our age, we were fans of the Spice Girls, but we were also big B*witched fans. For any of you who don't know who they are, B*witched were a group of four Irish girls, who dressed in head to toe denim and sung and danced their little hearts out. Their first hit, C'est la Vie is our first song in this post and I'll tell you why after the video..

My memories around this band and this song are vast, from being in my garage at my old house trying to Irish Dance (note the word trying), to wearing denim and even doing a dance at Brownies to We Four Girls, an album track, in which there were only two of us doing the dance.

Speaking of Brownies/Guides, here comes my second song which has memories is Liberty X (or were they just Liberty at this point?) with the song Just a Little Bit.

This song reminds me again of Brownies or maybe Guides. This time we were dancing(we did a lot of it) with canes (just like in the video) and I can vividly remember that there was one girl who was trying to boss everyone around. If I remember rightly, when she did this I would just be dancing around in the background or trying to start cane fights with the other girls on the back row ( like you do).

My final song I want to reminisce on today is by the Cartoons. Who actually remembers this song?

This song has big memories for me because it was the song I danced on stage to with my friend Natalie (and two random boys from our class, who couldn't find anything else to do) before we went off to different middle schools. The song is silly but catchy and everytime I hear it I smile. And if you're interested, I still remember the dance we made up for it. I'm available for all types of parties.

I could go on and on about the music of my past but for now I will stop. In May, I have tickets to the Big Reunion tour, which means I finally at the age of 22 get to see B*witched and a few other bands from my youth, live. This brings me so much happiness its unreal.

Who else is a child of the 90s? What bands and songs have memories for you?
I hope you enjoyed this post. I may do more.

Till Next Time,

Clare xxx
