Lets talk about BB Creams

Hello lovely people,

So when I put in my July Favourites that I  have been loving Maybelline’s BB cream and said I would be reviewing it, I got a few comments saying they’d like that, I thought I’d write this lovely post. Yes I shall review the Maybelline BB cream in another blog post but I would like to also talk the other BB cream I have tried and that is Garnier’s Miracle Perfector first (I know I’m a tease).

Now if you’ve been living away from computers/shops or have been living under a rock and have no idea what a BB cream is, I shall tell you with the help of my friend, Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia:

BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm, Blemish Base  is a cosmetic item sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia, although larger beauty brands are increasingly introducing BB creams to Western markets as well.”

So lets get into this then:

Garnier states on their website that their BB cream “provides an all-in-one skincare solution for immediately perfect-looking skin.” Garnier also claim that the BB cream can do 5 things which are that it:

1. Evens tone and boosts glow.

2.Blurs the appearance of pores and imperfections.

3. Smoothes the appearance of fine lines.

4.  Gives up to 24hr hydration.

5. has SPF 15.

I got a sample of this from their website and anyone can do this, not just bloggers. Simply go to their website, put your address in and they will send you a sample, which will look a bit like this.

So you get three small sample packs, mine are in the shade light. So what do I think? Well… I agree that it does the first two things,  it does even out skin tone and hides imperfections but if a BB cream didn’t do this, surely you would take it back. The other bonus of a western BB cream (or at least the two I’ve tried) is that they have Sun Protection in them. This BB cream has SPF 15, which is always a bonus in the summer months to make sure that you don’t get left red faced.

I only have one problem with this BB cream and that is that the samples that I got seemed to have rather a thick consistency when it comes out. Although when placed on the face it doesn’t feel overly thick but it made me fear that I could cake my face if I wasn’t careful. But maybe I’m just weird. Sorry I haven't swatched these, I feel bad for not. I promise I won't do them again.

Have you tried this BB cream? Leave a comment below and look out for the second BB chat, all about the other one I have tried (Maybelline).

Till Next Time,
C
