Revlon Lip Butters

Revlon Lip Butter Review:

Hey Lovely people,
Hope you’re well. Today, as you can see from the title, I am going to be reviewing another make up item for you. This review is about the highly blogged about Revlon Lip Butters. My current collection contains four shades as shown below. I have Candy Apple, Berry Smoothie, Strawberry Shortcake and Raspberry Pie.

As you can see above the packaging of this product is sturdy, with criss-cross sides on two sides. The product itself is as Revlon describes on its website as a:

“buttery balm with beautiful shiny colour to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips”

And I have to agree with that description, the colours I own all are vibrant, pigmented shades and the formula is hydrating which does make the lips softer. Here are my swatches:

(Candy Apple, Raspberry Pie, Berry Smoothie and Strawberry Shortcake)

Candy Apple – this is a lovely red colour. I’m always a fan of red lipsticks so during the summer, this my current go to lip colour.
Raspberry Pie – deep pink colour. My current obsession is anything that is this deep pink/fuchsia colour (clothes/make up- I’ll buy it). My mum described this colour as very 1920s, which just made me love this more.
Berry Smoothie- pink darker than lip colour. This is a good daytime colour, it is slightly darker than my natural lip colour and I love that I can wear this during the day just to cheer myself up by wearing this colour.
Strawberry Shortcake- light pink colour. It’s a good light pink because its not an in your face bright but it does cheer up a boring outfit.

The staying power of these bad boys is around 1-2 hours but I have found if you put a little clear lip gloss on before applying the lip butter, you can get a little longer. Overall I love these little sticks of lip buttery goodness, the only downside I have found of these beauts is that because of their consistency and formula they tend to melt if placed by heat (which is a downside if you want to take them out when you go out boogying on an evening).

So lets summarize:

Good Points:
  • Good range of colours from near sheer to more pigmented colours (such as my four)
  • Make lips appear softer and more hydrated.
  • Smell of Vanilla

Bad Points:
  • Tend to melt if placed near any type of heat.

So what do you think of Revlon Lip Butters? Have you tried any? If so what colours?
