Maybelline Colour Tattoo Review.

Hello Lovely People.

Ok, so here is a new experience for me I am going to try and review a product I have bought recently and that (as you can see from the title of this post) is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadows. In the UK, there is 6 shades available and are said to be fade and crease resistant.

I recently bought three in my local boots (3 for 2 offer-bargain) and the shades I picked were Eternal Gold, On and On Bronze and Turquoise Forever.

Eternal Gold (as it says in the name) is a gold glittery colour, which I like to use as a primer/base for holding Barry M Dazzle Dusts in place. However, I have now used it as a stand alone shadow and love how it makes my eyes look on its own.

Turquoise Forever (again like it says in the name) is a bright blue/turquoise colour. When I first saw this colour in the collection I was rather nervous to try it. My make up look usually is quite muted with possibly a hint of colour on the lips. But recently I've got a bit into a little crazy colour here and there and this eyeshadow hits the nail on the head. If like me you are slightly scared of this colour then I suggest you watch Tanya Burr's (pixi2woo) tutorial on youtube as she does a brilliant tutorial using the eye shadow. I shall link that here.

On and On bronze out of the three is my least favourite out of the three that I bought. But that might be something to do with the colour. In my head, bronze is a reddy- brown colour however in the On and On Bronze to me is a glittery brown. Like with the eternal gold shadow, I like to use it as a base and I also think that it would be a good smokey eye shadow.

So there is the three eye shadow shades that I bought from the Colour tattoo range. I have tried to swatch them for you. Be aware this is my first attempt at photographing my swatches so I apologies if they're not the best.

L-R Eternal Gold, Turquoise Forever and On and On Bronze.

So let summarize then shall we.

Good points:

  • Does not crease
  • Long staying power - may not be 24hr (have not tested it for that long) but lasts all day.. Brilliant :)
  • Good bases for other eyeshadows.
  • The Price- the currently retail at £4.99 (with 3 for 2 offer at the moment) you can't argue with that for such a good eye product.
Bad points:
  • The UK only has six shades (the three I've mentioned, Endless Purple, Immortal Charcoal and Eternal Silver)
  • Hard to budge of fingers. I am currently applying them using my index finger as I've found this technique useful however trying to wash the fingers afterwards is difficult.
  • On the same strand, these shadows are difficult to remove at the end of the day (the blue one especially needs a little elbow grease)

So there you go, thats my first review and its about a product that I am loving. Any questions feel free to comment below.

Till Next time,

C x
